As with the RoadSnacks list of the 10 most redneck cities in Florida, some of those who have made their new list of the snobbiest cities are bound to find it an insult, while others will surely see it as a compliment.
In coming up with their list, the following things were taken into consideration:
Median home price (Higher is snobbier)
Median household income (Higher is snobbier)
Percent of population with a college degree (Higher is snobbier)
Private schools per capita (Higher is snobbier)
Theaters per capita (Higher is snobbier)
Art galleries per capita (Higher is snobbier)
The only Central Florida city to make the list was Maitland. With a population of 15,913, a median household income of $70,998, and a median home price of $325,700, the site asserts that it’s not the income nor the price of the homes that helped Maitland make the list, but instead it was the wealth of the arts in the city. From the Enzian Theater to The Maitland Art Center, it’s a culturally rich locale, whose residents also happen to have more college degrees than most any other city in the state.
According to RoadSnacks:
You can see why the people in Maitland are a little uppity. Their town is well organized, and just…so darn cute. Are they snobs? Yeah, a little. But can you blame them?
