The man with a snarl is having a birthday. Billy Idol turns 61 today.

The Rolling Stones played the final night of their  North American tour at the International Raceway Festival in West Palm Beach on this day in 1969.  Also on the bill were the Moody Blues, Ten Years After, King Crimson, Janis Joplin, the Band, Steppenwolf, and Iron Butterfly.

On this day in 1969 “The Ed Sullivan Show” welcomed Neil Diamond, who sang “Sweet Caroline.”

David Bowie appeared on Bing Crosby’s 42nd and last Christmas special, which happened on this day in 1977. The two sang “Peace On Earth/Little Drummer Boy.”

It was November 30th 1979 when Pink Floyd released the album “The Wall” in the UK. It was issued in the U.S. a week later. It sold six million copies in the first two weeks of its release.

And some non-musical, but pertinent information, for us here in Florida. It was on this day in 1993 that The NFL announced its 30th franchise, the Jacksonville Jaguars.
