Finally a marketing scheme we can all get behind! Heinz Ketchup has started a petition to get the day after the Super Bowl a national holiday. YES!
The company cites stats that show “over 16 million people call in sick or just don’t show up to work” the day after the Super Bowl adding up to a total of $1 BILLION dollars in lost productivity! YIKES! And we all know corporate America is all about the bottom line.
Heinz petition states “If we can make Big Game Sunday awesome, we can make the Monday after awesome too. Make that Monday more like a Sunday. Make it a SMUNDAY and have more Sunday on your Monday…Don’t settle. Sign it. For your sanity. For your family. For your country.”
The petition quickly reached its goal of 10,000 signatures yesterday. Come on “SMUNDAY!”
