On this day in 1980, David Bowie and his wife Angie divorced after nearly ten years of marriage. Contrary to popular theory the song by the Rolling Stones “Angie” was not about her.

On this day in 1983 “Africa” by Toto was the #1 song.

Del Shannon died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on this day in 1990 at the age of 55.

It’s February 8th, 1993 and Tom Jones does a cameo on “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.”

Ringo Starr received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, on this day in 2010, at a spot very near the famed Capitol Records building at Hollywood and Vine. Ringo joked “It’s nice to look at a building you helped pay for.”
