A Look At Adele’s George Michael Tribute Song, “Fastlove”

By Brad Haynes

Adele received plenty of criticism, both good and bad, when she stopped her George Michael tribute early on, threw out an expletive laden apology and then started the song fresh.

But the song she chose as her tribute, “Fastlove,” was not a song that may have been too familiar to American audiences.

Released as a single in 1996, and appearing on the album Older, “Fastlove” may not have taken off in the states, but was a genuine hit in the UK, eventually becoming his seventh and final number one British hit during his lifetime. The song is also his seventh most downloaded song in the United Kingdom.

You’ll notice that the song also features the chorus of Patrice Rushen’s 1982 hit “Forget Me Nots.”

Check out George Michael’s much faster original recording in the sexy video below.
