Flights can be nerve-racking enough without having to add a kooky pilot to the mix. A United Airlines pilot scared passengers Saturday evening with her weird behavior. A passenger aboard the flight, Randy Reiss, took to Twitter to share the story. Reiss said the pilot brought up her recent divorce and began crying over the intercom. The pilot also communicated to passengers saying: “Don’t worry, I’m going to let my co-pilot fly it (the airplane). He’s a man,” she said. “If you don’t feel safe , get off the airplane. But otherwise, we can go” she continued. Several passengers took this opportunity to get off the plane.
United Airlines spokesman, Charlie Hobart, said, “We removed her from the flight, (and) we’re going to discuss this matter with her. We were looking out for our customers to get them where they need to be.”
The flight was scheduled to leave Austin-Bergstrom Airport Saturday at 5 pm but had a two hour delay.
