Prior to taking the stage at the Downtown Food & Wine Fest, Harry Wayne Casey, frontman for KC and the Sunshine Band, spent some time with Rick Stacy backstage to talk about past hits, but more importantly, the new music coming up.
“I have a new album I’ve been working on for three years now,” Casey revealed. “It’s actually three or four albums. I just keep recording until I can find the 17 or 18 best songs out of the three.”
“We’re dropping a new single next month called “Movin’ Your Body” and we just had three dance chart records with a song called ‘We Belong Together’ and another called ‘I Love You More’ and another called ‘I’m Feeling You.’ I’m just dropping some stuff on the dance market right now and we’ll see what happens,” Casey answered when asked when to expect the new material.
KC and the Sunshine Band have also been producing covers as part of the new project, with many of them available to preview on SoundCloud.
And what about that dabble into country music? “I’ve also been writing with Big and Rich,” Casey shared, “so I have some country stuff maybe coming up. I’m getting more into writing, a little bit more writing. I mean I’ve always written but I’m doing some more collaborations.”
