A Gift For Teaching Provides Free School Supplies For Students In Need

Each year teachers in Central Florida spend, on average, 500 to 1,000 dollars of their own money to provide basic supplies for their students. A Gift For Teaching is an organization whose mission is to improve public school education by providing resources to teachers and their students in need. They are Central Florida’s primary provider of free school supplies serving 338 public schools and over 210,000 kids whose families live at or below the poverty line. On April 29th, A Gift For Teaching will be hosting a fundraiser called Back to School Blast at the Rosen Shingle Creek hotel with special guest Chris Kirkpatrick, formerly of ‘N SYNC.

Director of Development Marisa Worley talked about A Gift For Teaching on SUNNY Across Central Florida.
