April 26th is Denim Day

Denim Day is a day when people are encouraged to wear denim to raise awareness of rape and sexual assault.

You’re probably asking why denim? It comes because there was a rape conviction in Italy and their Supreme Court believed that since the victim was wearing tight jeans she must have helped the rapist remove her pants.

The next day, women in the Italian Parliament wore jeans to show their solidarity with the victim.
