We have multiple Rolling Stones stories to get to. On this day in 1965, two days after a first recording, The Rolling Stones re-recorded “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.” It was this version that was released. “Satisfaction” is ranked #2 on the list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time in Rolling Stone Magazine. We jump to this day in 1971 when Mick Jagger married his first wife Bianca. One year later, to the day, The Stones released “Exile on Main St,” which includes one of my Stones favorites “Happy.”

Enough Rolling Stones, we go back to this day in 1968, when Gary Puckett and the Union Gap performed “Young Girl” and “Lady Willpower” on “The Ed Sullivan Show.

On this day in 1981 “Bette Davis Eyes” by Kim Carnes was the #1 song.

Marvin Lee Aday, A.K.A. Meat Loaf, filed for bankruptcy on this day in 1983.

In 2000, thieves stole the gates to Strawberry Field, the landmark immortalized by the Beatles song. The 10-foot high iron gates were later found at local scrap metal dealer in Liverpool.

And some strange news to finish out the day. It was on this day in 2008, that Neil Young had a spider named after him.
