It was on this day in 1967, that Paul McCartney met a young photographer named Linda Eastman. They started dating a year later, and were married in 1969.

Let’s roll to this day in 1973. The Pointer Sisters, former Boz Scaggs and Elvin Bishop backup singers, made their stage debut as their own act at the Troubadour nightclub in Los Angeles.

It was on this day in 1975, that the most well known and successful Fleetwood Mac lineup played their first show together. It happened in El Paso, Texas and featured Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie Nicks.

On this day in 1978 “If I Can’t Have You” by Yvonne Elliman was the #1 song.

Courtney Love sold the Seattle mansion she shared with Kurt Cobain on this day in 1997 for $3 million.

On this day in 1998, Sonny & Cher received their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

And it was on this day in 2009, that Randy Bachman, a founding member of the Guess Who and Bachman-Turner Overdrive, was invested as an officer of the Order of Canada, the country’s highest civilian honor.
