We start on this day in 1965. Bob Dylan releases “Like a Rolling Stone.” Rolling Stone Magazine has that song listed as the greatest song of all time.

Steppenwolf was the guest performer  “American Bandstand,” on this day in 1968.

Let roll to this day in 1970, when The Carpenters appeared as guest bachelor and bachelorette on The Dating Game TV show.

On this day in 1979, The Electric Light Orchestra took out ads dedicating the release of  “Don’t Bring Me Down” to Skylab, the space station that was about to prematurely re-enter Earth’s atmosphere in bits and pieces.

On this day in 1983, Diana, Princess of Wales met Duran Duran for the first time at a charity event in London. It was widely known that they were her favorite band.

On this day in 1986, birthday boy Santana celebrated 20 years with his group with a massive group reunion. All 17 current and former members played together at a concert in San Francisco.
