We start on this day in 1966, the Four Tops released the single “Reach Out I’ll Be There.”

On this day in 1968 “People Got To Be Free” by the Rascals was the #1 song.

Billy Preston was the special guest on “American Bandstand,” on this day in 1973, singing “Will It Go Round In Circles?” 

The funeral for The King, Elvis Presley, was held on this day in 1977 at Graceland. There were close to 75,000 people outside and Jimmy Carter ordered in the National Guard to keep the peace.

On this day in 1986, Bon Jovi released their biggest selling album to date, “Slippery When Wet.” So far, the album that features “You Give Love A Bad Name,” and “Livin’ On A Prayer” has sales of more than 28 million copies worldwide.

And we end with some baby news. It was on this day in 1992, that Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, became parents of a daughter they named Frances Bean.
