There will be a joint funeral for Officer Matthew Baxter and Sergeant Sam Howard today at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Orlando, 3000 S. John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL 32805.
Interment will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Rd., Gotha, 34734

W. Emmett St. and Broadway from John Young Parkway to Neptune R. closed 6:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in anticipation of the funeral procession.
Motorists in Osceola and Orange County may see heavy delays on the northbound Turnpike, from the Kissimee area, beginning at 8 a.m. Eastbound I-4 will also be affected. The funeral procession will travel northbound on John Young Parkway to SR 408 and to the burial site.
Tonight, Thursday, will be a candlelight vigil held at Dakin Avenue and Broadway St. intersection, 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Friday, the downtown Kissimmee businesses will hold another fundraiser on the same block, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be vendors, raffles, music and more. All proceeds will go to the fallen officers’ families.
Sunday, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. 4Rivers Kissimmee will hold a benefit for the fallen officers’ families. They will also hold a free car wash from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Family activities and of course, food. All proceeds will benefit the Baxter and Howard families.
