The National Weather Service had to add not just one, but two new colors to reflect the amount of rainfall on the Houston area.

Two thousand people have been rescued and the number continues to climb.

Fifty more inches, or five feet, of rain are still projected to fall, turning that part of Texas into a lake.

Nearly half a million people will likely need and apply for aid. And FEMA projects at least 30,000 will need to be sheltered.

Here are the most important numbers. American Red Cross: 1-800-RED CROSS or text HARVEY to make a $10 donation.
Salvation Army: 1-800-SAL-ARMY or text STORM to 51555.
