Do Not Trust Your GPS: Biker Gets A Ticket

By Sybil

We’ve become VERY dependent on technology for many things, including getting around. Even walkers (hikers) use GPS.

But this guy drove his BIKE through a tunnel. And got a ticket for trespass…

Port Authority police nabbed the delivery worker on the Jersey side of the Lincoln Tunnel after he went through it to drop off food for a customer. While bridges are often perfectly okay with traffic by non motorized vehicles and those on foot, many toll roads, interstates, and tunnels are not.

He can take comfort in knowing he’s not the only one:

This lost truck driver once landed a big rig on a public park’s footbridge and blamed his GPS.

Then this driver followed her map app and ended up crossing an airport taxiway.

2013: A woman in Europe drove 900 miles instead of 90 due to a GPS error.

And a year before that, GPS led a woman onto a golf course.

And Australian police warned people against using Apple maps, lest they end up lost in the wilderness.
