CAPE CANAVERAL – (September 7, 2017) – KENNEDY SPACE CENTER – In anticipation of severe weather in Brevard County and to allow our employees time to make preparations at their homes, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will be closed Friday, September 8 through Tuesday, September 12. At this time, visitor complex officials anticipate reopening Wednesday, September 13 at 9 a.m. after a thorough assessment of the property has been completed.

During this closure:

  • Visitors will not be permitted onto visitor complex grounds.
  • Non-essential employees will be dismissed.

Preparations at the visitor complex are well underway in anticipation of severe weather due to Hurricane Irma. Staff members have been moving loose items indoors, securing tables, and protecting windows and doors.
