On this day in 1979, Joe Walsh declares he is running for president. He did not win……

On this day in 1980, John Lennon signed with Geffen Records after David Geffen agreed to release Lennon’s next album without hearing any of the songs in advance. Pretty savvy since the next album was Double Fantasy, and sold over 6 million copies, and won a Grammy Award.

On this day in 1987, The sitcom “Full House,” starring John Stamos, Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron, Jodie Sweetin, and the Olsen twins, started an 8 year run on ABC.  The newer version “Fuller House” debuts season 3 on Netflix today.

Bryan Adams made chart history, on this day in 1991, when ‘(Everything I Do), I Do It For You’, had its twelfth consecutive week as the No.1 single in the UK.

On this day in 1992, Bruce Springsteen records a concert for MTV Unplugged, but plugs in after the first song and does the rest of the set electric. When the episode aired, MTV called it “MTV Plugged.”

And a big happy birthday to David Coverdale from Whitesnake, who turns 65 today.
