It was such a treat to speak with my old friend Bruce Hornsby, who is appearing in Daytona this Sunday.

I was working in Atlanta the first time I had a chance to see him in concert. Everybody knew his song “The Way It Is.” It was all over the radio, and the uniqueness of the sound, made it stand out even more.

I went to introduce the show with no knowledge of just how good it was going to be. From the first note on, it was mesmerizing to watch him and the band totally own the crowd. They tore through their set and everyone in the building left knowing they had seen something completely out of this world…..and that was 30 years ago.

Over the years, Bruce has let his musical tentacles spread into everything from Bluegrass, to scoring movies, and you will be absolutely engaged when you go to The Peabody in Daytona this Sunday night. The show starts at 7:30 and when Mr. Hornsby does his solo show he covers it all. The hits, the Bluegrass, the music he has done for movies, his orchestral arrangements, the whole shebang. Take a listen to our conversation and you will be ready for a night of greatness in Daytona.
