Who doesn’t like a good sandwich? I remember arguments with friends and coworkers about what makes the best sandwich. The Thanksgiving Leftover sandwich (called the Moist Maker on “Friends”), the Monte Cristo (the batter dipped and deep-fried wonder), the Philly Cheesesteak… all are incredibly popular. And let’s not start with the sub, hoagie, “whatever you call it where you live” debate.
I am getting really hungry. I may have figured dinner out by writing this.
But, I have good news for hungry people! To celebrate we’ve compiled a list of some of the deals you can get to celebrate this day tenderly cradled between two slices of bread (or a roll).
- Buy a sandwich and 30 oz drink at Subway, get another sandwich – and they donate to Feeding America.
- Discounts at Schlotzsky’s, McAlister’s Deli (on Club sandwiches), Quizno’s, and Jersey Mike’s has coupons good for $2 off today and tomorrow on their social media sites or in their newsletter.
- Arby’s will give you a free sandwich if you sign up for their Meat Mountain newsletter (all the dang time – not just today), the chain named for the Earl of Sandwich himself offers an online coupon for a twofer.
The sandwich was “invented” by the fourth Earl of Sandwich, John Montagu. He liked to be served a little beef between a couple slices of bread while gambling on cards, and it is his birthday. Cheers!
