It’s far more than you’d expect. In fact, it’s far too many for most people to consume in a day, according to dieticians.
Well, what do you expect from a nation that spends 81 million dollars on PIE alone on Thanksgiving. We can’t just have pumpkin! There needs to be pecan, a chocolate cream or French Silk pie… stop me, I’m drooling on the keyboard.
So here’s the thing, the main meal alone can run around 3,000 calories and nearly 160 grams of fat (recommendations are for 40-80 grams depending on the person).
Add another 1,500 for appetizers and beverages and we’re looking at one meal running 4,500 calories.
Dietitian Tanya Zuckerbrot says treat the day like any other and eat breakfast so you don’t go nuts when it’s meal time.
She has NO advice for those of us who LIVE for the leftover sandwiches too close to bedtime. 😉
