Let’s get started in 1966, when Jimi Hendrix hits the studio and records “Foxy Lady.”

On this day in 1975, Foghat release their biggest hit “Slow Ride.” It peaked at #20 on the charts.

Phil Collins made his U.S. television acting debut on this day in 1985 playing a drug dealer on “Miami Vice.” The show used his song “In The Air Tonight” for it’s pilot episode.

On this day in 1996, the movie “Jerry Maguire,” starring Tom Cruise, Cuba Gooding, Jr., and Renée Zellweger opened in theaters. Glenn Frey also has a nice role playing a coach.

And let’s keep it in the Eagles family. It was on this day in 2008 that Joe Walsh married Marjorie Bach, making him brother-in-law to Ringo Starr, who is married to Marjorie’s sister Barbara.

And we some interesting birthdays today. Jeff Skunk Baxter from the Doobies, Terrible Ted Nugent, Randy Owen from Alabama, Jamie Foxx, Amy Lee from Evanescence and Taylor Swift, who has sold over 40 million records and has over 150 million downloads to her credit and she just turned 28.
