On the anniversary of last year’s march, this year’s march is Sunday at 11 am at Lake Eola Park. This march is intended to bring all the Florida chapters of the Women’s March together for a day of action to bring awareness and support to some of our most marginalized communities.
They’ll be collecting donations to send to our sister islands that were affected this hurricane season: Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Florida Keys. They will also focus on expanding voter access and registration, a crucial step towards meaningful change.
Women’s March Central Florida is being held in solidarity with 576 marches across the globe to make the powerful statement that womens’ issues matter:
“As we reach the one year anniversary of this historic event, we want to gather together once again in solidarity with Marches across the nation to look back on the lessons we learned from 2017 and how we move forward in 2018 and beyond to continue to fight for a world that is equitable, accepting, just and safe for all, one in which the human rights and dignity of each person is protected…”
