Hold on to your hats, or in this case, your fav pair of jeans. According to a news study, respondents said there is an age you should stop wearing jeans and that age is 53! Well, that’s not going to sit well with a lot of people! Am I right?
So according to CollectPlus their study revealed “stress we experience while jean shopping, with 6 per cent of us becoming so upset we burst into tears.” Wow, tears? That’s a tad much. On the upside, the study also found that once we do find a good pair of jeans it’s “usually three years before we have to go out and buy another pair, and for one in five (18 per cent) it’s as long as five years.” Well, yeah, that’s how long jeans last and if you keep your weight constant, even better! Score!
The research found a lot of interesting info on us jean-wearing fanatics.
- Once we find our perfect pair we wear them five times before putting them in the wash.
- We have no problem wearing jeans almost anywhere, a formal event, funeral, even a job interview.
- Women will spend an average of 8 days searching for that perfect pair, while men will shop only four days.
Marketing Director at CollectPlus, Catherine Woolfe said she was surprised to learn that their research found that many people thought that once you hit 53 you had to give up wearing denim. “Denim is such a universal material and with so many different styles available it’s a timeless look that people of all ages can pull off.” I totally agree, which brings me to the question, who the heck did they ask and what was their age? 13?
I love my jeans. Do some fit me well? Yes. Do some fit me not so well? Yes. Do I wear jeans a tad too much? Yes. Will I ever stop wearing them? Probably not. I have never been much of a follower especially when it came to fashion. I’ll just keep following the beat of my own drummer. Or to quote the great Neil Diamond “… if you pardon me, I’d like to say,we’ll do okay, Forever in blue jeans!” Yes! ~grace
