We live in the ‘Sunshine State’ we should have a lot of sunshine! So it makes complete sense that we be on Daylight Saving Time as our standard time year round which means no more turning your clocks back and losing that precious sunshine! Yes!
The Miami Herald reports that two bills, both titled “Sunshine Protection Act”, have passed in the first Senate and House committees. One bill has Florida under Daylight Saving Time all year while the other bill would also move the panhandle be moved into Eastern Time, it’s currently under Central Time Zone.
If passed, the state’s time zone would change “as soon as practicable.” If the bill passes, Florida will join Hawaii and most of Arizona in following standard time year-round. Yes! ~grace
