One in six Floridians battle hunger and food insecurity.

Lake Cares Food Pantry is hosting Empty Bowls on February 8th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Wooten Park in Tavares to call attention to this issue. Ten dollars gets you two soups provided by local restaurants, bread, bottle water and a bowl. Entertainment includes live music and performances by Michelee Puppets. Lake Cares Food Pantry is collecting bowls for this event at the Mount Dora office at 2001 West Old Hwy 441.

Irene O’Malley talked about Empty Bowls on SUNNY Across Central Florida.
