Being in a relationship is a non-stop evolving commitment. I’ve been blessed to be married to the same man for over 20 years. Has it been easy? A walk in the park? Well, honestly? No. However, it’s been worth every effort made by both of us. So I wasn’t surprised when Chef Gordon Ramsay said he lost weight to save his marriage.
The 51 year old chef said he lost about 56 lbs. after his wife gave him a relationship ultimatum. So in Ramsay style he jumped in and committed himself to getting back in shape, even considering training for the Ironman 70.3 race that includes a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride and 13.1 mile run. Fortunately his newly hired trainer nixed the idea.
One of the most incredible feelings ever sat in the water on the start line minutes before the cannon goes off @im.kona good luck to all the athletes taking part and a big thank you to all the supporters and helpers @iamspecialized_tri @ironmantri ,let the island come to you. Best wishes and race safe. Next year I'm coming back can't wait
Instead, Ramsay was placed on a less intense version of training for triathlon. Ramsay said he also changed his eating habits slightly. The chef said he doesn’t drink milk or touch cheese because it makes him sluggish, instead opts for Almond milk smoothies with frozen berries and yogurts. And of course, plenty of water.
Has it been all worth it? Ramsay says yes, “hard…but the benefits are extraordinary” and he likes himself again.
And hopefully, so does his wife! ~grace
