What is the best movie set (not necessarily made) in every state?
Thrillist set a few criteria to guide the choices, with the caveat that any ranking compiled by humans will be flawed.
They tried to select movies that took place mainly in a given state, which meant road trip classics (Easy Rider or Thelma and Louise come to mind) won’t show up. They also picked films that represent a state’s place in the nation’s collective consciousness — you probably don’t think “New Hampshire!” when someone mentions Jumanji.
While The Florida Project may very well represent the state’s character Magic Mike had strippers. Channing Tatum for the win.
Raising Arizona represent Arizona, Alabama and To Kill A Mockingbird are a match made in a court room, and California and Sunset Boulevard seem obvious to me. More “duh’s” include Kansas and The Wizard of Oz, and Oklahoma and Twister.
