The first Johnnie Walker I ever heard of was on the radio and once I got older, I realized why.
The iconic whisky brand has been around since the 1800’s created by a farmer named John Walker. The Scotch whisky comes in a variety if blends and have offered a few limited editions. Well now, inspired by the empowerment of the women movement lately the 200 old whisky is introducing their new female version of Johnnie Walker Black Label, meet Jane Walker!
The companies head honchos say they are hoping to target a female audience.
Along with a name change, the package logo will feature a female; the first change to the packaging in over a century.
So in honor of March being National Women’s History Month say the company will donate one-dollar for every Jane Walker Edition bottle toward supporting women’s progress, up to 250-grand.
Brand owner Diageo Plc is hoping the move widens the appeal of the product while celebrating women, said Stephanie Jacoby, vice president of Johnnie Walker.
This run of 250,000 bottles nationwide is the first round and will be a limited edition.
Now, I’m not a whisky drinker but I am loving this logo and think it’s pretty cool! And as a collector item’s yup, this woman is buying a bottle of Jane Walker. Plus, appreciate Johnnie Walker donating to women’s programs. ~grace
