I fly because I have to and I try not to think that anything will go wrong (after a lot prayers said once I get my seat). So when I read stories like this one of a lady that tried to open the cockpit door and began screaming, well, I get a little nervous all over again.
Reports say a woman on board United Express Flight 5449 tried to open the aircraft cabin door while the plane was in flight which was traveling from San Francisco to Boise earlier Monday. The Boise, Idaho woman was then restrained
A video posted online purportedly shows a passenger working to tie up the woman’s feet as another man holds her down in the aisle. You hear the woman screaming, “I am God, I am God, I am God,” she was heard screaming in the video.
The plane, carrying 73 passengers, landed safely and Boise police were waiting at the gate. The woman was taken for medical evaluation.
One of the passengers aboard told NBC: ‘She got up from her seat ran towards the cabin door and tried opening it mid flight. It was definitely scary, everyone was very confused.”
Officials say it would be impossible to open a door in the pressurized cabin of a plane in the air. Well, that may be true but that wouldn’t make the event any less terrifying or upsetting.
And while all this must’ve been heart stopping at least these people weren’t on the flight with this guy. Seriously, are people just off their meds now? ~grace
