Forbes has just released their annual list of America’s fastest growing cities, and things seem to be slowing down . . . just a little, for our area.
Last year, the Orlando/Kissimmee/Sanford area came in as the second fastest growing community in the country in the Forbes study. This year we’ve dropped to number four.
Last year also saw 6 of the top 10 cities as Florida cities, but this year the only other Florida city to make the top 10 is the Cape Coral/Fort Myers area, coming in at number 9. Ironically, that is the area that last year saw the greatest amount of growth.
The non-Florida cities in the top 10 include Boise City, ID at #1, Seattle/Bellvue/Everett, WA at #2, Dallas/Plano/Irving, TX at #3, Fort Worth/Arlington, TX at #5, Las Vegas/Henderson/Paradise, NV at #6, Nashville/Davidson/Murfreesboro/Franklin, TN at #7, Austin/Round Rock, TX at #8, and Tacoma/Lakewood, WA at #10.
