Ever look at your driver’s license photo and think, “Man, I wish this came out better?” Yes. In fact, I’ve only had one drivers license where my photo was like so nice, even the DMV workers were impressed. Sigh, that was many years ago. Well, now California is working on maybe giving drivers a choice of their photo.
California Senator Josh Newman has proposed a bill that will allow more than one photo to be taken at the DMV for license photos. He even wants you to be able to bring in your own photos to use. What? Whoa can you imagine the pics some people are going to bring in? First person that comes to mind is Kim Kardashian. Will she being wearing clothes? So many questions now.
Of course, Senate bill 1407 requires the DMV to establish fees for any additional photos taken and guidelines for photos people submit, but any revenue from additional photos taken will go towards the Driver Education and Training Fund.
The proposal is currently making its way through channels – we’ll keep you posted. If it passes wonder if it’ll make it’s way to other states. Fingers crossed my fellow Floridians. ~grace
