On this day in 1975, David Essex was the guest performer on "American Bandstand," doing his #5 hit "Rock On."
 
Blondie hits No.1 on this day in 1980 with "Call Me," featured in the Richard Gere movie American Gigolo. It was their 2nd #1 after "Heart Of Glass."
 
On this day in 1981 "Kiss On My List" by Daryl Hall & John Oates was the #1 song. It was thier 2nd of 6 #1's the duo would post on the Hot 100.
