Let's roll to 1974, when Paul McCartney and Wings hit #1 with "Band On The Run." It was the second of five #1 singles for the band and sold over a million copies.

On this day in 1975 "Sister Golden Hair" by America was the #1 song. It knocked off "Thank God I'm A Country Boy" to take over the number one spot.

On this day in 1984, the movie "Ghostbusters," starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Harold Ramis, and Rick Moranis, opened in U.S. and Canadian movie theaters. The song "Ghostbusters" would hit #1 in August and stay there for three weeks.

Tears For Fears would hit No.1 on this day in 1985 with "Everybody Wants To Rule The World." It was the band's first #1 and would hold the spot for two weeks. The song would also pick up Best Single at the Brit Awards.

And finally it was on this day in 1991, that Bruce Springsteen married his backup singer Patti Scialfa. They have three children. Evan, a singer/songwriter, Jessica, a celebrated equestrain, and Samuel, a firefighter.
