Steve Winwood hits #1 on this day in 1986 with the song "Higher Love." Chaka Khan would supply the backround vocals, it was Winwood's first No.1 and garnered him two Grammy Awards.

On this day in 1989, Izzy Stradlin from Guns N' Roses, was arrested for making a public disturbance on a US air flight. Stradlin had urinated on the floor, verbally abused a stewardess and smoked in the non-smoking section of the aircraft. Stradlin ended up with a year's probation for the mile-high pee incident. He also had to write a letter of apology to the flight crew.

On this day in 1993, Billy Joel is the first musical guest on David Letterman's first show after moving to CBS. He played the song "No Man's Land." Bill Murray was also on the show.

Let's jump to this day in1995. James Taylor and ex-wife Carly Simon perform together for a benefit concert at Martha's Vineyard. It's their first time in 16 years that they shared a stage together.

And finally, it was on this day just two years ago that The Go-Go's complete their final tour, playing their last show at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. If you can make it to New York, you can see the Broadway musical about the Go Go's, Head Over Heels, at the Hudson Theater.
