I bought this album with my own money. It was on this day in 1974, that The Beach Boys hit #1 on the US album chart with 'Endless Summer', my favorite album they ever did.

On this day in 1979, ABBA visits the White House, while on tour for the first and only time here in America. They meet President Carter's daughter Amy, who is a big fan.

On this day in 1989, Motley Crue played a warm up show for their Dr. Feelgood tour at the Whisky a Go Go, under their pseudonym The Foreskins. The video for "Kickstart My Heart" was filmed that night at the show. For the record, everyone knew it was Motley Crue!!

On this day in 1992, we lost Eddie Kendricks of The Temptations, who died of lung cancer at 52. He was the lead voice on "The Way You Do The Things You Do," "Get Ready" and "Just My Imagination." He also hit #1 solo with the song "Keep On Truckin."

Got some good birthdays today. Steve Miller is having a BDAY, former lead singer of AC/DC Brian Johnson, The guy that had the #1 instrumental from Beverly Hills Cop Harold Faltermeyer is 66 and lead guitarist from Maroon 5 James Valentine is having his 40th.....Today in Music History.
