U.S. Citizens Receiving Fake Text Messages About A Military Draft

Selective Service did not send and do not reply could compromise your information.

If only these hackers could use their brilliance to good use. This new fraud alert not only is fishing for your personal information but is scaring the public. Evil in its purest form.

U.S. Army Recruiting Command in a statement issued said if you recieve text messages that you’ve been selected for the military draft, you should know that those messages are fraudulent. In fact, the military draft hasn’t been in effect since 1973.

The latest scam is two fold not only are people recieving texts fishing for personal information but the U.S. Selective Service shared in a tweet a public advisory warning “that there are websites claiming to be the Selective Service that charge for registration.”

On the Selective Service System’s official Facebook page they are warning the public of these scams and added “In the event that a national emergency necessitates a draft, Congress and the President would need to pass official legislation to authorize a draft.”
