O.M.G!! What would you do (after you scream of course) if you saw an 8 ft. boa constrictor blocking your front door to your home? Would you freak? I would!

Snakes are a deal breaker for me. I'm not phobic completely about them and can appreciate them when contained or safely away from me like, a block away, but omg, to see something this huge slithering in front of your home? No way jose!

Emergency responders were called out to a Florida home to capture an 8-foot boa constrictor just hanging out in at the resident’s front door. Lake County Fire Rescue said the Venom 2 Unit was dispatched to a Clermont home Wednesday on a report of a large snake blocking residents from entering their front door.

The snake was captured and turned over to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The reptile’s origins were unclear.

Too many people buy these snakes as pets and then for whatever reason decide no longer to keep them instead of turning them over safely to a conservation they just release them. Please do not do this.

The unit says receives two or three calls a day. If the snake is a Florida native, the unit will urge the homeowner to leave it alone or “shoo it away with a broom." However, if the snake is large or dangerous, or near a school or other place where children gather, the unit will come remove it from the property and then, if a native, relocate it to an area far from homes.

Well, that's good to know but still ....SNAKE!! Yikes! ~grace
