I think we all thought by now we'd have flying cars. Well, we they may not be too far out in the future.

Monday Hyundai announced it would mass produce flying cars for Uber's aerial rideshare network set to deploy in 2023. The South Korean company said it would produce the four-passenger electric "vertical take-off and landing vehicles" at "automotive scale," but offered little details.

The deal was announced at this years Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Uber, working with other aircraft manufacturers, hopes to achieve its goal of getting air taxi service up and running in a handful of cities by 2023.

Uber has announced Melbourne will join Dallas and Los Angeles in becoming the first cities to offer Uber Air flights, with the goal of beginning demonstrator flights in 2020 (yikes that's this year!) and commercial operations in 2023.

If flying cars are not that far away then I'm holding out on my robot maid like 'Rosie' in the "The Jetsons." ~grace
