It's ironic, I hated the subject of history through most of my education and now as an adult, I can't get enough of it! Which is why I'm a huge fan of walking tours! Well, Winter Park is now offering some great local walking tours and I was fortunate to be part of a yummy one the 'Flavors Of Winter Park Walking Tour.

A two hour tour that takes you to some of the lesser known yet still awesomely delicious restaurants, stores and sweet shops. The guides take you through the history of the city of Winter Park as you stop and sample some of the food, drink, and sweets from these businesses that you may not even know existed because they're not directly off Park Avenue. After this tour, that every foodie will love, you not only will know these places but you will return with friends in tow! I guarantee it!

Another walking tour I'm looking forward to is the 'History Of Winter Park.' The little Florida city was chartered in 1887 and was the location of the first Florida college to hosting multiple U.S. Presidents! A little secret that everyone knew about and wanted to see it in person.

When you are over 100 years old as a city, surely you have great ghost stories right? Well, Winter Park has its fair share. A 90-minute 'Ghosts Of Winter Park' tour with some interesting facts about the buildings and pioneers who founded and grew the town and apparently still haunt the place!

And last but not least, 'Welcome Neighbor! The Mr. Rogers Walking Tour!' So living in Orlando for the past two decades I never knew Mr. Rogers had a tie to Florida! This two hour tour takes you in the footsteps of Fred Rogers from his days as a Rollins College student and later as a humble television celebrity; how he met his beautiful wife and a simple mural that had the most influence on his life and subsequently, ours as well. In fact, Mr. Rogers was and is still today, such a huge influence, there is now a movie about the sweet humble man that we all grew up watching on TV. "A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood" premiers at AMC Altamonte November 13th and I have tickets for you all this week.

While Winter Park the city itself is known world wide, it's the little hidden gems of information that so many do not know and now, as a local, you have the means to learn and dazzle all your family and friends with the knowledge you'll pick up from these great Winter Park walking tours. Enjoy and share the love! ~grace
