This is really cool.

You Tube is running the Apollo 11 Mission in real time!

This happened today, 50 years ago July 16th, 1969.

The work for this rebroadcast goes to Ben Feist who painstakingly stitched together NASA audio files, transcripts, Mission Control loops, images and video to create an immersive experience for the Apollo 11 mission.

Yes, I was 13 and just got done burning some stuff in the garage when my parents called me in to watch the launch.

I didn't get it at first, plus the Playboy magazines hidden under my bed were more interesting to me, but as the week went on, I realized this moon thing was for real.

I watched the whole thing and made my dad go out to Davey's Toys and buy me a rocket.
